Abstract: the continuous advancement in transportation infrastructure is critical to sustaining economic growth and ensuring public safety. this paper investigates the latest developments and innovative approaches in airfield and highway engineering, with a particular focus on sustainable materials, advanced construction techniques, and predictive maintenance strategies. the study presents a comprehensive analysis of recent case studies, highlighting the effectiveness of novel pavement materials, such as recycled asphalt and geopolymer concrete, in enhancing durability and reducing environmental impacts. furthermore, the integration of digital technologies, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and the Internet of Things (IOT), into pavement design and maintenance practices is examined for their potential to improve project delivery and lifecycle performance. the findings suggest that a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating both engineering innovations and management strategies, is essential for the future of Airfield and Highway pavement systems. this paper contributes to the ongoing discourse on sustainable infrastructure by providing actionable insights for practitioners, researchers, and policymakers aiming to optimize the performance and sustainability of pavement systems. with an emphasis on sustainability, resilience, and cutting-edge technologies, the event provides a platform for sharing knowledge that can drive the future of pavement infrastructure worldwide.
