Seyede Fatemeh Ghoreishi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University. Her research includes machine learning and Bayesian statistics for design and decision-making under uncertainty, with a specific focus on transportation and civil infrastructure. Prior to Northeastern, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute for Systems Research at the University of Maryland. She received her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees, both in Mechanical Engineering, from Texas A&M University in 2016 and 2019 respectively. She holds a minor in Applied Statistics from the Department of Statistics at Texas A&M University. She is the recipient of several awards, including Rising Stars in Computational and Data Sciences at the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin in 2019 and the Rising Stars in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley in 2020. She received the Conference Best Paper Award at the 2024 Modeling, Estimation, and Control Conference (MECC) and the Best Paper Finalist Award at AIAA SciTech 2025. She currently serves as the senior editor of IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems.
