Mohammad SafariTaherkhani is a Ph.D. candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Maryland, College Park. He holds BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. He is specializing in the field of transportation with focus on data science, machine learning, and big data applications in transportation. He is a graduate research assistant at the Center for Advanced Transportation Technology (CATT) where his research focuses on optimizing electric vehicle fleet and charging infrastructure, intelligent transportation systems, and asset management. He has contributed to research projects sponsored by the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration, and has presented his research at multiple TRB conferences.
