I am Rebecca Frimpomaah, a Civil Engineer and Graduate Research Assistant at the University of North Dakota, where I am pursuing graduate studies in Civil Engineering. With more than 11 years of experience in highway design, transportation planning, and construction supervision, I am driven by a passion for improving transportation infrastructure, mobility, and road user safety through cutting-edge engineering solutions and research.
Before transitioning into academia, I held various leadership roles at the Ghana Highway Authority, where I managed major initiatives such as the World Bank-funded Transport Sector Improvement Project and the Improvement of Ghanaian International Corridors. These responsibilities involved overseeing geometric design reviews and construction supervision to ensure efficient and safe road networks.
My current research focuses on crash modelling, connected and autonomous vehicle technologies, traffic safety, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Using tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, PTV Vissim, and HDM4—alongside advanced traffic simulations and data analysis—I bring a blend of practical field expertise and technical proficiency to every project. My ultimate goal is to enhance infrastructure resilience and create safer roadways for all users.
