Peng Zhang is currently a PhD student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, specializing in Connected Autonomous Vehicles (CAV) under the guidance of Professor Xiaopeng Li in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He has a strong interdisciplinary background, having earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, providing a solid foundation in both hardware systems and optimization techniques.
Peng’s research focuses on enhancing autonomous vehicle systems through advanced control algorithms and real-time data processing. He has built several reduce-scaled CAV test platforms and developed hardware to assist real world CAV systems, particularly in Roadside Units (RSU) for improved communication and system efficiency.
