Dr. Ruixiao Sun is an R&D Associate Staff within the Mobility and Energy Transitions Analysis (META) group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). With a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina (2022) and an M.S. in Management Science from Central South University, China (2018), Dr. Sun has devoted her career to the forefront of transportation decarbonization. Her innovative work leverages quantitative models, simulations, optimization techniques, and artificial intelligence to drive progress in vehicle energy consumption prediction, urban traffic and shared mobility simulation, alternative fuel infrastructure siting and planning, vehicle market penetration projection, and techno-economic analysis on vehicles and infrastructures.
