Professor Eyad Masad is a prominent figure in the field of civil engineering, renowned for his extensive research and contributions to pavement materials and mechanics. He holds prestigious positions at both Texas A&M University and the Texas A&M University at Qatar, where he serves as a professor and a leader in engineering education and research.

Born and raised in Jordan, Professor Masad pursued his early education there before moving to the United States to further his studies. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Jordan. Demonstrating a profound interest in materials and mechanics, he continued his academic journey at Washington State University, where he earned both his Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering.
Professor Masad's research primarily focuses on the characterization and modeling of asphalt and pavement materials. He has been instrumental in developing advanced computational models and innovative testing methods to predict the performance and enhance the durability of pavement systems under various environmental and load conditions. His work has significantly contributed to improving the sustainability and longevity of road infrastructures worldwide.

Over the course of his career, Professor Masad has authored and co-authored more than 300 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers, reflecting his active engagement in advancing engineering knowledge. His publications are highly cited, underscoring the impact of his research on the global engineering community. Additionally, he has contributed to several books and book chapters, further disseminating his expertise in pavement mechanics and materials.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to engineering research and education, Professor Masad has received numerous awards and honors. Notably, he was honored with the James Laurie Prize by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), acknowledging his significant achievements in transportation engineering. He has also been named a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a testament to his professional distinction and commitment to the field.

Beyond his research and academic duties, Professor Masad is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of engineers. He has supervised numerous doctoral and master's students, many of whom have progressed to influential positions in academia, industry, and government.
