HM Nayem is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami, Florida, USA. Alongside his doctoral studies, he works graduate research assistant (RA) at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at FIU. In this role, he actively contributes to cutting-edge projects that focus on statistical modeling within the field of transportation engineering. Before joining FIU, HM Nayem completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Statistics at Jahangirnagar University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where he honed his expertise in quantitative analysis and research methodologies.
His research pursuits center around the dynamic and multifaceted domain of Data Science, with a specific emphasis on the practical application of diverse statistical methods within real-world contexts, particularly within the realm of transportation research. Beyond his core focus on Data Science, HM Nayem also maintains a keen interest in statistical modeling within transportation studies, statistical inference, Bayesian statistics, ridge regression, dimension reduction, and machine learning.
