Daba Gedafa is the Chair and Michael & Sitney Lodoen Endowed Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of North Dakota. He is also the Interim Director of the Transportation Technology Research Initiative and Associate Director of the Sustainable Infrastructure Research Initiative. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Kansas State University in 2008. He specializes in pavement and material engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in North Dakota and Connecticut and is also registered as an Envision Sustainability Professional. He is the Handling Editor for Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board. He served as past president, president, president-elect, and vice president of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) North Dakota section.
