Khandaker “Arafin” Islam is a passionate Ph.D. candidate in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation. He’s genuinely excited about using data analysis to make a real difference in improving road safety. Arafin’s research dives deep into finding innovative ways to use data for meaningful improvements in transportation systems. His hard work and dedication have earned him the 2023 and 2024 Summer Doctoral Fellowship, as well as the Patricia Sastaunik Scholarship. He’s committed to creating safer roads and leaving a positive impact on the field of transportation.
