Vitalii Naumov is a seasoned academic and researcher in the field of transportation systems. Currently a Professor at the Transportation Systems Department of the Cracow University of Technology, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role.
Prof. Naumov holds a Master's degree in Transportation Management from Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University, a Master's degree in Software Engineering from Kharkiv National University of Radio and Electronics, and a Master's degree in Applied Informatics from Jagiellonian University in Krakow. His academic journey culminated in a Ph.D. in Transportation Science, where he delved into the complex dynamics of fleet structure optimization under stochastic demand.
International collaborations have enriched his research. He was a Lane Kirkland Scholar at Jagiellonian University, a visiting researcher at Duisburg-Essen University, and a Kosciuszko Foundation Scholar at Stanford University. These experiences have broadened his perspective and fostered innovative approaches to transportation challenges.
A passionate advocate for data-driven solutions, prof. Naumov leverages data mining techniques and artificial intelligence methods to tackle complex problems in logistics and transportation. His extensive research has resulted in over 150 scientific publications, including 3 books on the application of information technologies in these fields.
Prof. Naumov is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of transportation professionals. He teaches mathematical statistics, applied mathematics, artificial intelligence methods, and simulation techniques to master's and doctoral students at both Cracow University of Technology (Poland) and Dnipro University of Technology (Ukraine).
