Shubhankar Shindgikar is a PhD candidate at the University of South Florida and a Data Scientist at RS&H, with expertise in Predictive Data Analytics, Traffic Safety Studies, and Emerging Technology. He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Transportation at USF. With over five years of experience, Shubhankar specializes in predictive data analytics, advanced statistics, GIS, and data modeling. He has collaborated on significant projects with agencies such as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Golden Gate Bridge Highway & Transportation District (GGB).
Shubhankar is highly proficient in tools like R, ArcGIS, Python, Tableau, and Power BI. He has developed automated data pipelines, conducted spatial analysis, and built models through his work at USF-CUTR. His contributions include supporting data analytics programs for FDOT D7 and the North Carolina Turnpike Authority (NCTA), focusing on tolling data analytics, smart work zones, and connected vehicle technologies. One of his notable achievements is leading the development of Florida-specific Crash Modification Factors (CMFs) for sinusoidal rumble strips, marking the first study of its kind in the United States.
Known for his collaborative problem-solving approach, Shubhankar continues to push the boundaries of data analytics and transportation technologies, with a focus on improving road safety for all users.
