Dr. Elias is pavement Assistant Professor in the Civil Engineering department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She graduated from the Pavement Engineering and Science program at University of Nevada, Reno, where she pursued her master’s degree and PhD. After graduation, she joined California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in Fall 2024 as a tenure-track assistant Professor. Her research emphasis and technical background emphasizes asphalt mix design and highway/airfield pavement specifications. She worked on revising asphalt mixtures criteria, implementing new mix design and sustainable technologies with new specifications at the local agency, State Department of Transportation, and federal levels. She worked on several pavement projects with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Washington DOT, Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe county, National Cooperative Highway Research Program, etc. Dr. Elias served as an active member and coordinator for several committees and associations including Association of Asphalt Pavement Technologists, Transportation Research Board, and Academy of Pavement Science and Engineering.
