Claudia Mara Dias Wilson, Ph.D., A.M. ASCE is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech). She received her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Florida State University. She joined New Mexico Tech in 2005 where she has been teaching multiple classes, advising the Student Chapters of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and working on various research projects funded by the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), the National Science Foundation (NSF), as well as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in conjunction with the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (NM-DHSEM). Of particular interest is the professional services agreement between the NMDOT and both New Mexico Tech and New Mexico State University (NMSU) for the purpose of locating and inventorying all culverts within the NMDOT right-of-way to serve as a basis for a Culvert Asset Management Plan. Dr. Wilson is the Principal Investigator (PI) for New Mexico Tech and is involved in all aspects of this project.
