Yu-Min (Thomas) Yang is a second-year PhD student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UMass Amherst. He completed his bachelor's and master's degrees at National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. His research interests include vulnerable road user safety, surrogate safety measurement, and human factors in transportation. Currently, he is involved in research projects analyzing pedestrians’ and bicyclists’ behavior under different infrastructure designs and using driving simulation to understand drivers' interactions with e-scooters and bicyclists.
