Dr. Abhijit Roy is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate and Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington. He completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in 2023, with a focus on Construction Engineering, and Infrastructure Management.
Dr. Roy's research centers around developing risk-based decision analytics for seismic resilience in critical infrastructure systems, particularly water distribution networks. His expertise extends to structural and geotechnical engineering, with a focus on integrating advanced technologies like AI and resilience analytics to improve decision-making for seismic rehabilitation.
He has worked on numerous projects funded by organizations such as the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), and the U.S. Department of Labor. Notably, Dr. Roy served as an Entrepreneurial Lead on the NSF I-Corps project, where he worked on the translational potential of resilience analytics technology for enhancing seismic rehabilitation decision-making in water infrastructure systems.
In addition to his research, Dr. Roy has contributed to academia as an adjunct professor, teaching courses in construction drafting and building information modeling. His previous experience as an Assistant Engineer at Cityscape International Limited further complements his academic and research pursuits, providing a practical foundation for his work in construction and infrastructure management.
Dr. Roy's commitment to fostering innovation in infrastructure resilience has earned him numerous academic awards, including the Outstanding Ph.D. Student award at UT Arlington. He continues to push the boundaries of resilience analytics and seismic rehabilitation, making significant contributions to both academia and industry.
