Dr Lubinda F Walubita is a Research Scientist with the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) of The Texas A&M University (TAMU) System, USA. His areas of expertise are Roads, Materials, and Pavement Engineering. During his over 20 years work experience, Lubinda has been actively involved in the development and implementation of the hybrid portable Weigh-In-Motion (pWIM) technology for traffic and vehicle weight measurements. His other research areas include perpetual pavements (long-life asphalt roads), renewable energy, and environmental sustainability. Lubinda also intermittently serves as an International Roads Consultant and Adjunct Professor of Civil Engineering. In addition to the ASCE’s 2016 Most Innovative Green Engineering Research (Roadway Energy Harvesting) and 2023 TTI Senior Researcher honor awards, Lubinda’s work is internationally recognized with over 200 publications to his name. Lubinda is also actively involved in various professional services and organizations including ASCE, EIZ, and SAICE. He holds Civil Engineering degrees from the Universities of Zambia (Bachelors), Stellenbosch (Masters, RSA), and Texas A&M (PhD, USA).
