Manuela Lopes Gennesseaux, originally from Brazil, holds a Civil Engineering degree from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and a master's in Transportation Engineering. She earned a dual Ph.D. from the University of São Paulo and the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier, focusing on the durability of bituminous mixtures with recycled materials. Since 2019, she has been a research scientist at the Université Gustave Eiffel, working on road safety diagnostics and pavement wear analysis.
