Dr. Shian Wang is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso. He obtained his Ph.D. in civil engineering (transportation) from the University of Minnesota in 2022. Dr. Wang is a recipient of multiple awards, including the Best Paper Runner-Up Award of IEEE FISTS 2024, the IEEE ITS Best Dissertation Award-First Prize, the Rising STARs Award from the University of Texas System, and the Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship from the University of Minnesota. His research interests include systems and control theory, optimization, and intelligent transportation systems, with applications to connected autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, sustainable transportation, and transportation cybersecurity.
