Zahra Halimi is a PhD candidate in Civil engineering at the University of Maryland. Zahra has contributed to significant research projects on transportation infrastructure equity and secured over $50 million in grants through her work with Build America Center for transportation agencies, showcasing her expertise in innovative financial methods and benefit-cost analyses. Building on her commitment to equitable opportunities, she extends her impact by collaborating with the Airport Minority Advisory Council to study women and minority representation at U.S. airports and by coordinating Women in Engineering Seminars through the Engineering Graduate Student Society.
