Niranga Amarasingha is a Professor in the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology and the President of the Sri Lanka Society of Transport and Logistics. She earned her B.Sc. Engineering special degree at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, M.Sc. in Engineering at the Thammast University, Thailand, and her PhD in Civil Engineering from the Kansas State University, U.S.A. Currently she teaches transportation engineering modules, and her research focuses on traffic engineering and operations; transportation system modeling; planning and simulation; and safety and human factors. Niranga has over 18 years’ experience in the road safety field, and she has been leading a research team examining a range of road user safety issues in Sri Lanka.
