Mo Zhao is a senior research scientist at Virginia Transportation Research Council, Virginia Department of Transportation. She holds a PhD degree in Civil engineering and has more than 10 years of experience working as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on a wide range of traffic operations and highway safety issues. Her current research focuses on highway system performance measurement, big data analytics, and machine learning applications for transportation.
