Lance Dougald is an Associate Principle Research Scientist at the Virginia Transportation Research Council (VTRC). VTRC is the research arm of the Virginia Department of Transportation where Mr. Dougald has conducted research in the areas of pedestrian and bicycle safety, incident management, transportation operations, and transportation planning. Over his 28 year career at VTRC, he has over 40 publications and many technical presentations. Mr. Dougald received his master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia; is an Associate Member of ASCE; and a Corresponding Member of ASCE's Transportation and Development Institute’s Transportation Safety Committee.
