Dr. Kirolos Haleem is an associate professor of civil (transportation) engineering at Western Kentucky University (WKU). Dr. Haleem is the founder & director of the Center for Transportation Research (CTR) at WKU. Kirolos received his master’s and Ph.D. degrees in civil (transportation) engineering from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in 2007 and 2009, respectively. He has more than 15-year experience in transportation engineering. His areas of expertise include highway traffic safety analysis, application of statistical models and data mining techniques in transportation data analysis, driving simulator studies, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Kirolos led and conducted numerous transportation research projects sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Transportation (Kentucky DOT), Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), Florida DOT, and the U.S. DOT.
