Dr. Pooya Darghiasi is a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, specializing in Transportation Safety and Resilience. He is currently a transportation engineer at the Texas Department of Transportation contributing to the design, construction and maintenance of transportation infrastructure projects at the State of Texas.
Before joining TxDOT, he served as a Research and Development Engineer at the North Texas Institute for Infrastructure Resilience (NTIRI) at the University of Texas at Arlington. At NTIRI, He conducted interdisciplinary research on developing theoretical foundations and practical applications to enhance the safety and resilience of transportation infrastructure systems. His work at NTIRI led to significant contributions to various infrastructure projects sponsored by a variety of federal, state, and local organizations, such as TxDOT, FHWA, and CTEDD. Dr. Darghiasi's research advances both the theory and application of data analytics to improve infrastructure resilience.
