Dr. Sanchita Chatterjee is an ICSSR Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Centre for Inner Asian Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India. She is currently focusing her research on the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC). She completed her Ph.D. in 2021 at JNU, New Delhi where her research focused on the trafficking of labor migrants in Tajikistan from 2000 to 2016. Her academic journey includes an M.Phil. in International Relations from JNU, with a dissertation on the socio-economic impacts of labor migration in Tajikistan, and an M.A. in International Relations from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India.
With prior teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in Political Science, she has guided four Ph.D. research scholars. Her research engagements extend to significant projects with organizations such as UN Women and the Ministry of Environment in India. Dr. Chatterjee has published extensively on issues related to human trafficking, migration, and regional security, with papers presented at national and international conferences. Her contributions are recognized in scholarly journals and edited volumes, further establishing her expertise in South Asian and Central Asian studies​.
