Dr. Adriana Trias Blanco’s research primarily concerns the assessment of transportation infrastructure, such as bridges, through the incorporation of new technologies that facilitate the health monitoring, diagnosis, and prognosis of these structures through improved methods of remote sensing and non-destructive evaluation (NDE) for long-term performance, as well as construction progress evaluation for quality assurance and quality control. She has led projects for the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), the University Transportation Center (UTC) led by Rutgers University, while publishing and presenting her work in prestigious journals and conferences. At Rowan University, she teaches courses in bridge engineering, statics, solid mechanics, and advanced steel design. She is an active member of the Structural Health Monitoring of Intelligent Infrastructure (SHMII), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE), and a Faculty Advisor of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Rowan Students Chapter.
