Prof. Antonio Montepara is since October 2000 Professor of Roads, Railways and Airports at the University of Parma.Prof. Montepara was the President of SIIV Italian Society for Road Infrastructure Non-profit Company founded in 1990 representing the academic world of the scientific disciplinary sector (SSD) ICAR/04 "Strade ferrovie aeroporti" with the statutory purpose of promoting and facilitating the dissemination of culture and scientific knowledge in the field of road infrastructure, both within the Universities and addressing to the entities operating in the mobility sector. Prof. Antonio Montepara has been several times president and director of the department of engineering at the University of Parma.
The scientific activity is documented in over 160 publications in national and international journals and he is author and co-author of several books.. The papers can be consulted on the IRIS platform of Ateneo (https://air.unipr.it/).
In 2011 he was the winner of the Walter J. Emmons Award AAPT 2011 - Best Memory at the 86° AAPT Annual Meeting - Tampa 27-30 March 2011 with the memory: "The Role of Fillers on Cracking Behavior of Mastics and Asphalt Mixtures".
Since 2017, he is a member of the World Federation of Scientists ICSC - World Laboratory - Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre for Scientific Culture - Member of Permanent Monitoring Panel: Mitigation of Catastrophic Risk".
