Sultan Ali is a TSM&O Engineer and a Project Manager with CHA Consulting. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a specialization in transportation engineering from Florida International University. Currently, Sultan supports the Florida Department of Transportation District 6 on the I-395 Miami Signature Bridge work zone project. He also assists Miami-Dade County Traffic Signals and Signs Division with the South Dade Rapid Transit Project.
Throughout his career, Sultan has undertaken and overseen to numerous contracts and projects for municipalities, counties, and state DOTs, applying his experience in transportation systems management and operations (TSM&O), traffic operations, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), connected and automated vehicles (CAV), emerging transportation technologies, traffic simulations, and transportation safety.
As a researcher, Sultan has contributed to high-quality research for local, state, and federal transportation agencies, resulting in numerous peer-reviewed journal publications and conference presentations. Beyond his technical work, Sultan serves as the President of the South Florida Section of ITE, where he fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, knowledge-sharing, and mentoring among transportation professionals.
