Dr. Irfan Batur is an Assistant Research Professor at Arizona State University in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment. He holds a PhD in Civil, Environmental, and Sustainable Engineering from Arizona State University, an MS in Industrial and System Engineering from Istanbul Sehir University, and a BS in Industrial Engineering from TOBB Economy and Technology University. Dr. Batur’s research interests include travel behavior, sustainable transportation, emerging transportation technologies, and smart cities. He has served as a principal investigator on various research projects and contributed to the development of open-source tools in these areas.
Additionally, Dr. Batur has been serving as Assistant Director of both TOMNET, a Tier 1 University Transportation Center, and the Travel Behavior and Demand (TBD) National Center, both of which is funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation. He is also a member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Standing Committee on Traveler Behavior and Values.
