Dr. Mursheda Rahman joined University of Asia Pacific (UAP) in 2021 as a Lecturer and currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. Before joining UAP, she worked as a Lecturer in Stamford University Bangladesh from September 2011. She also served as a Design Engineer in ACE Consultants Ltd., Bangladesh for three years. She was involved in preparing Bidding Documents and Engineering Estimate of different construction materials during working on a project named Rural Transport Improvement Project (RTIP) funded by the Bangladesh Government, LGED.
Dr. Mursheda teaches numerous theoretical and sessional courses on Transportation and basic Civil Engineering in undergraduate programs. She also teaches graduate course on Structural design of Pavement. She also serves as the Coordinator of the Post Graduate Program of the Department. Her current research interests include Urban Planning, Traffic Calming, Traffic Safety and Transportation Systems Modeling. Specific aspects of her research include: speed management in urban and arterial roads, implementation of traffic calming devices on roads, study the pedestrian crossing behavior in Dhaka city and conflict analysis. Additionally she is working under a project funded by Institute of Energy, Environment, Research and Development (IEERD) UAP. Dr. Mursheda has about ten publications in International Journals and Proceedings. She supervised the thesis works of several under and post-graduate students at UAP. She is a reviewer of Scopus Indexed International Journal.
