Debbrata Datta is a doctoral student in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at South Dakota State University (SDSU). His research focuses on sustainable asphalt pavement material. Beyond research, he has served as a teaching assistant for 1.5 years and has also assisted with outreach activities such as the National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI) camp, helping promote different aspects of transportation engineering to high school students. He also earned his master’s degree from SDSU in 2023. Before joining SDSU, Debbrata worked for an international charity organization. During that period, he coordinated response teams to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in underprivileged areas of his home country. Additionally, he has two years of professional experience in the civil infrastructure industry. Apart from academic and professional life, he enjoys traveling, watching movies, and spending time with his family and friends.
