Lisa Wasko DeVetter leads the small fruit horticulture program at Washington State University (WSU) and is based in Mount Vernon at the Northwestern Washington Research and Extension Center. Lisa joined WSU in 2014 and has developed a diverse research and extension program with an emphasis on maximizing productivity, fruit quality, and on-farm efficiencies, while ensuring the health of adjacent natural resources critical for small fruit crop production. Improving end-of-life management of agricultural plastic mulch, pollination, mitigating heat and freeze damage, nutrient management, and harvest mechanization are key areas of research in her program.
