Sam Lowenhar graduated from Wake Forest University in 2023 with a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology. Currently he is pursuing a PhD in Dr. Selina Wang's lab at UC Davis. There he is researching novel applications for valorization of agricultural waste streams including grape marc, olive pomace, and almond byproducts. Applications range from fortification of asphalt, creation of natural anti-icing agents, and use in the food industry. This research is conducted with the use of natural eutectic solvents and LC-QQQ and LC-QTOF.
