Baishali Rahman is a graduate research assistant at Advanced Traffic Analysis Center (ATAC), Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute (UGPTI). She is pursuing her Ph.D. in Transportation and Supply Chain from the Department of Transportation, Logistics and Finance at North Dakota State University (NDSU). She has completed her M.S. in Agribusiness and Applied Economics from NDSU. She also has an MBA degree in Marketing awarded by University of Chittagong, Bangladesh.
Baishali has over 10 years of working experience in Finance Industry and over 2 years of working experience in transportation planning and economic analysis of transportation projects. She has worked for Bangladesh Bank- the Central Bank of Bangladesh as a Joint Director and team leader of Bank Inspection, and has worked on several transportation projects with UGPTI. Her research interests are public transit, traffic safety, spatial optimization, and travel demand modeling techniques. Her PhD dissertation concentrates on integrating public transit with existing and emerging transportation modes. She has published research work in the field of transit planning and traffic safety. She also presented her research on Economics of Precision Agriculture, Seasonality in Agricultural Commodity Futures Market, and Integration between Public Transit and Bike Share in several regional and international conferences.
