Tara Cavalline, PhD, PE, is a Professor in the William States Lee College of Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her research focus areas include concrete and cementitious materials to support durable, sustainable infrastructure, quality assurance in construction, use of recycled and byproduct materials, and asset management. Dr. Cavalline is active in TRB, ACI, and ASCE, and is currently the Director of the Charlotte Aviation Innovation and Research (AIR) Institute.
Dr. Cavalline has been at UNC Charlotte since 2006, and prior to that worked as a consulting engineer in Charlotte. She currently serves as the Chair of the Technical Activities Council of TRB and on ACI Committees 201 Durability of Concrete, 555 Concrete With Recycled Materials, and 121 Quality Assurance Systems for Concrete.
