Dr. Bhupendra Singh is working as an Assistant Professor Gr-I in the Department of Civil & Infrastructure Engineering at IIT Jodhpur. Throughout his career, he has undertaken prominent roles such as faculty advisor for Master degree courses, Institute international relation committee member, and faculty in charge transportation engineering Lab. He received the prestigious SERB-SIRE Fellowship in 2023, allowing him to contribute to significant research related to influence of waste fillers on moisture susceptibility of asphalt mixtures at the University of Nottingham, UK, for six months. He was honoured with Venus International Research Awards (VIRA) in 2019 as a Young Scientist in Transportation Systems.
Dr. Singh obtained his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Transportation Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2018. He received a Master’s in Transportation Systems Engineering from the National Institute of Engineering, Hamirpur, India in 2014 and, holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from Babu Banarasi Das National Institute of Technology & Management, UP, India.
In the realm of research, Dr. Singh has led various projects funded by esteemed organizations such as the Science and Engineering Research Board, National Highway Authority of India, Water Resource Department of Rajasthan, and Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. He is also actively involved in various third-party investigations including Municipal Council Pali, Rajasthan. He has also organized a faculty development program on “Recent advances on pavement analysis, design and evaluation” sponsored by AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy.
Dr. Singh's focus on research is driven by a genuine desire to find practical solutions to various pavement and materials related problems. His research encompasses a range of disciplines, including pavement materials, pavement analysis and design, sustainable pavement material, cold mix and warm mix asphalt, material characterization, waste incorporation and green construction.
In his mentoring capacity, Dr. Singh guides six Ph.D. students, out of which two students will soon be submitting their thesis for further evaluation. He is grateful for the opportunities to contribute to academic discourse, with over 40 peer-reviewed research and conference papers to his name. Additionally, he is honoured to serve as a reviewer for respected journals such as Construction and Building Material, Environmental Science and pollution Research international, international journal of Pavement Engineering, Intentional journal of pavement research and technology, and Journal of testing and evaluation. Dr. Singh remains deeply committed to advancing knowledge and expertise in the humble pursuit of contributing to the field of pavement and materials engineering.
